1/4 C blanched whole almonds (optional)
2 large garlic cloves, quartered
3 C loosely packed fresh basil leaves
1/2 C olive oil
1/4 C grated Parmesan cheese
3 T lemon juice
In a food processor bowl or blender container, cover and process almonds till finely chopped. Add garlic; process just till blended.
Add basil leaves. With machine running, gradually add oil in a thin, steady stream, processing till the mixture is combined and slightly chunky.
Add parmesan cheese and lemon juice. Process or blend till combined.
